The Call of Abram
1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go
from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will
show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will
make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who
bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will
be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3 NIV
How many Avraham’s (including my
father) left their familiar world and went to new lands... Countless amounts!
Too many to name!
They were tired of what was around
them - the political situation was changing, or financial need was driving
them. But you and I know - GOD STANDS behind it all! Ultimately, only He is the
Lord and Leader of everything. That is, those who trusted this calling, it does
not mean that they always did everything accordingly, but, nevertheless, they
WENT, went where they did not quite imagine - they won the VICTORY and received
their reward!
I suspect that most of us are
presented with opportunities and challenges that are sure to be met with
blessings. Well, at least part of it. After all, our forefather Abraham, having
received all the theoretical promises during that earthly life, did not always
fully acquire and experience them. But the letter to the Hebrews teaches us
that Abraham looked forward to the descent of the Heavenly City. 10 “For he was
looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is
God.” Hebrews 11:10 NIV
Don't be scared! Don't be afraid to leave the
old and move on to the new! Trust the call of the Lord and trust Him to win,
being content with the humble, as Paul teaches, “I know what it is to be in
need, and I know what it is to have plenty.” Philippians 4:12 NIV
As human beings, we may be looking at other
heroes who, according to Scripture, are more anti-heroes. Advertising about
their life is extensive and they are always in sight, they are known, and they
are envied ... King David once said: "For I envied the arrogant when I saw
the prosperity of the wicked." Psalms 73:3 NIV But, after, the same David
said: "till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final
destiny. Psalms 73:17 NIV and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalms 23:6 NIV Walking the new path, trusting the call of God, and no matter
in what area - the main thing is that the Authority and Guidance of the Word of
God protect our decisions, actions, and that irritated by the people around
you, rather, that you can live peacefully with them so that you can share the
light within you!
In this, we can be heirs of our
father Abraham! One of his descendants, Yeshua, having redeemed us from sinful
passions and ambitions, is ready to help us at any time. He is ready in spirit
to strengthen you and me from within. The main thing is to understand where you
are, to hear the Voice of God and get out of what is not pleasing to Him, to
enter God's Peace, even when this Peace is like an everyday battle.
Sincerely, Leon Mazin
